Mass Effect: Heros and Villains
Published by Hexadecimal on August 4, 2007
In his latest blog, Casey Hudson, Project Director of Bioware’s Mass Effect, took some time to go into a bit more detail on the team’s experience at this year’s E3, as well as their work on Saren, your adversary in the upcoming game as well as a major character in the novel, Mass Effect: Revelation (if you haven’t read it yet, I don’t know what the hell you’re waiting for), both in terms of his character and his appearance.
his character development not only spans the entire game, but the prequel novel as well (Mass Effect: Revelation). Your mentor and close advisor in the game is Captain Anderson – a top officer in the Human Alliance. In the novel, you can see how Anderson actually worked with Saren before he went rogue, and you can see the beginnings of Saren’s obsessions which would ultimately consume him. All of these aspects of his character come to life in the game as you battle him and his followers across the galaxy, and add a level of credibility that makes confrontations with him extremely satisfying.
