Greg Zeschuk Speaks Dragon Age On Consoles

Published by Dark Drakan on August 5, 2008 Comments

Bioware co-founder Greg Zeschuk has recently been speaking about consoles seeing something of the Dragon Age franchise at some point

Any time we undertake something we have a goal of creating franchises. PC for now is what we’re focusing on, but there is a console future for the franchise.

One thing we’re focused on, as folks probably have seen in regards to ‘Mass Effect’ on the PC, is whenever we do a platform choice, we’re very definitive and very specific.

We don’t splash it across all the platforms. Like in the case with ‘Mass’ PC we worked really hard to make it even better than the console version. The PC gives us more tools to do that with. That’s the approach we’re taking with ‘Dragon Age’ and other games at BioWare..

Dragon Age Origins Trailer Released

Published by Dark Drakan on July 12, 2008 Comments

Bioware have released the first Dragon Age Origins trailer. Its only a short one, but it already has the Internet buzzing with anticipation for its new RPG title. CVG had the following to say about the trailer…

The trailer runs for less than a minute, but every moment has impressed us. Fans of the high fantasy seen in Baldur’s Gate and Neverwinter Nights might be disappointed, as it feels more Lord of the Rings than Dungeons and Dragons. It’s brutal, bloody and far darker than we could ever have imagined.

Bioware Say DLC Could Solve Piracy

Published by Dark Drakan on July 9, 2008 Comments

In a recent interview with CVG Bioware co-CEO Ray Muzyka has been talking about his views on combating piracy.

Making players want and “believe” in your games is the most sure-fire method to prevent them pirating it.

We’re doing a lot of post-release downloadable content on all of our PC titles going forward. We think it’s a good thing to encourage players to make them want to buy a PC title.

That’s ultimately the best, most successful path to prevent piracy - to have players that want your games, want to believe in them and think they’re high-quality and realize they’re going to get a lot of value out of them as platforms for long time afterwards.
